Thanksgiving At The Beach

Each Thanksgiving Jack's family and neighbors rent a giant beach house together for the week.  I've gone every year since Jack and I started dating, and it is CRAZY FUN.  I grew up vacationing at the beach during the summer, so just the sight & sound of the ocean is instantly relaxing for me.  Going to the beach during the off-season is something new for me, though.  There's something very cozy about it.

I found a horseshoe crab that had washed up on the beach.  Poor guy!

We grew up calling these black things 'a mermaid purse'.  All my life I thought they were shark eggs, but I found out today that they're really skate egg cases!  There were TONS on the beach.

I had to look up what this spiral thing is... Apparently it's a whelk egg case

I also saw this random, crazy tree growing out of the sand, and is evidently being propped up by a board.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
